pTEREX JITC CERTIFICATION IMMINENT

pTerex Mobile Tactical Edge Network (MTEN) products will be tested and certified by the Joint Interoperability Testing Command (JITC) the first week in August.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – June 26, 2007 –pTerex, LLC announced today that the pTerex Mobile Tactical Edge Network (MTEN) Product solution is being tested for certification by the Joint Interoperability Testing Command (JITC) the first week in August.

pTerex is on the schedule to test as part of the CISCO IP Interoperability and Communications System (IPICS).  pTerex is providing the mobile communications backbone for the system.  The test will result in certification of the pTerex MTEN solution as a joint, fully-interoperable solution for use by the Department of Defense (DOD), Federal agencies, and all branches of the service.
Many DOD customers require this certification prior to purchasing any mobile communications solution.  pTerex will be the first solution of its kind to be certified as it includes seamless failover connectivity between multiple transport technologies (wired, wireless, cellular, and satellite) regardless of location specifically designed for mission-critical, tactical operations.

“pTerex has been tested over many networks for interoperability, both NIPR and SIPR specifically for USJFCOM’s enterprise network, NAVSPECWARCOM’s network, JWICS, and USMCHQ.  We are confident that the testing and certification will be conducted without a hitch, and further it will clear up any interoperability concerns for potential customers.” said Melissa Cross, pTerex Director for Contracts and Marketing.  “JITC certification is often written in as a requirement for innovative communications solutions such as ours.  We have several orders in our queue pending JITC certification, and they will be processed immediately upon certification notice.”

“We are extremely excited to offer our customers a JITC-certified solution.” said Earl Bowers, General Manager for pTerex.  “Through our testing with Government-customer partners, we have always known the potential of our deployable suites and their interoperability with other systems.  This certification will confirm it for our customers.”

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – May 29, 2007 – pTerex, LLC announced today that the pTerex Mobile Tactical Edge Network (MTEN) Product solution was successfully installed on the United States Marine Corps Headquarters (USMCHQ) network for use by Commandant of the Marine Corps General Conway and his staff for enhanced Command & Control (C2) and the critical connectivity required in deployment operations.  pTerex MTEN Executive Communications Suites will provide the deployed Commandant and his staff Continuity of Connectivity that identically emulates the USMCHQ direct LAN connection, from the point of the departure all the way to the final destination, anywhere in the world.
The Commandant of the United States Marine Corps is the highest ranking officer of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, reporting to the Secretary of the Navy. The approved pTerex installation on the USMCHQ network opens the door to allow all Marine Corps commands that require remote, mobile access to MCHQ to use pTerex equipment.  The pTerex System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA) Appendix T is available from USMCHQ to all commands that need pTerex capabilities.

"pTerex is proud to serve the Commandant in the critical capacities of Situational Awareness and Mobile Command and Control.  The Marine Corps is widely recognized as a forward thinking, early adopter of new and exciting technologies.  In that regard, we are pleased with the Commandant's faith in our innovations and hope that this will allow our technology to be exposed to more connectivity-challenged warfighters." stated pTerex General Manager, Mr. Earl Bowers.

pTEREX DEMONSTRATES EMERGENCY RESPONSE CONNECTIVITY IN HAWAII

pTerex MTEN products provide connectivity solutions for the Niu Valley Community

O’AHU, HI – April 20, 2007 – pTerex, LLC demonstrates emergency response connectivity solutions for the O’ahu, Hawai’i NIU Valley Community in partnership with neighborhood representative Marty Plotnick.  Our goal is to keep on top of the news and bulletins coming out of the state civil defense agency in case of an emergency. Our plan is to then transmit that information to the community.  The demonstration was held the week of April 9th in the presence of Oahu lawmakers, visitor industry officials, neighbors and police officers. “Niu is to become the test site for digital and electrical independence”, Plotnick said.

"This is all you need," Plotnick said. " If we get an evacuation order, I just throw this all in the back of my Subaru, and I am still connected. You don't need to have formal training to do this." If it works here, then it will work in any community. I want to empower people to give them the communication channels they need to eliminate half their stress in an emergency. The real mission here is to save lives."

During the Big Island earthquake Oct. 15 that knocked out O'ahu's electricity, Plotnick was the only one on his Niu Valley street still connected to the Internet.

State Rep. Lyla Berg, D-18th (Kuli'ou'ou, Niu Valley, 'Aina Haina), said Plotnick's idea would save the state millions of dollars as it attempts to help communities stay in contact in case of an emergency. Other communities, like Hawaiian Ocean View Estates on the Big Island, are also creating a communitywide networking plan because residents there are so isolated, Berg said.

"It's so important for sustainability if we can help the community become self-sufficient," Berg said. "This is a great concept. Residents want to be connected in an emergency."

Kuli'ou'ou resident Al Andrews was interested in Plotnick's setup and planned to propose it to his community association. "I want to get this for our Kuli'ou'ou Valley," Andrews said.

“It's all a matter of being self-sufficient”, Plotnick said. In an emergency, he can share news bulletins with his neighbors, who are mostly elderly, so they can take care of themselves. “The goal”, he said, “is to get others in the community involved with establishing a network to other homes in the valley”, which has an estimated 850 residents.

"We want to spread the word to other communities," Plotnick said. "We presented an idea that can be adapted to other areas."

pTEREX EVALUATED AS THE COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTION FOR MOBILE COMMAND AND CONTROL AT USNORTHCOM

pTerex Mobile Tactical Edge Network (MTEN) products test well for USNORTHCOM SJFHQ-N

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – January 31, 2007 – pTerex, LLC announced today that the pTerex Mobile Tactical Edge Network (MTEN) Product solution was successfully demonstrated for the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) Standing Joint Forces Headquarters – North (SJFHQ-N) group in at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

USNORTHCOM SJFHQ-N is evaluating multiple technologies to solve their mobile communications needs; because of the flexible, adaptable nature of pTerex MTEN products, our solution is front-runner in their evaluation.  “The pTerex solution provides the adaptability necessary to meet the critical need for deployable command and control required by USNORTHCOM”, said Tom Morgan, pTerex Director, R&D - Product Engineering.

USNORTHCOM SJFHQ-N is charged to maintain situational awareness of the USNORTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) to enable rapid transition to a contingency response posture.  When directed, SJFHQ-N rapidly deploys a joint command and control element to support homeland defense and civil support operations to deter, prevent, defeat and mitigate crises in the USNORTHCOM AOR.  The SJFHQ concept was developed to resolve the many diverse issues associated with establishing a Joint Task Force (JTF) headquarters. This transformational headquarters construct provides USNORTHCOM with an informed and in-place command and control capability, reducing the “ad hoc” nature of traditional JTF headquarters. The in-depth situational understanding, knowledge of common “business” processes and cohesion of the SJFHQ-N team give USNORTHCOM an advantage of time, perhaps the most critical resource in a contingency.
